James 5:19-20

My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

James 5:19-20 NET

We are all sinners, no one, apart from Jesus, is free from sin. Sin can creep into our lives and take us away from God. Sometimes it can be a big sin, that is clear and obvious, and everyone knows is terrible. But, more often than not, sin comes in a little at a time and takes us slowly down a path that isn’t leading to God.

We need the church around us. We need to be accountable to others so that they can help us to turn off the path of sin. Sometimes this is really difficult, because we don’t want to – we’re having fun! But, although something may be fun in the short term, if it’s taking us away from God, it’s not the right path for us. We need help from our fellow Christians to keep us on the right path, and we need to do the same for them.

God uses us to help each other for His glory!

Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2 NET
